How do I return a machine to an Up status when no work order is driving it Down?

Updated on

This happens very rarely, but when it happens, it is usually because someone was trying to change the equipment on a Task that was in the DOWN status.  The system will throw an application error, but sometimes the original equipment gets stuck in the original status.  As the Work Order and Task no longer exist (they were deleted when you tried to change equipment), you are left without the ability to fix it.

Usually the first place you spot this is on the Equipment Status Monitor.

2. Click into the site with the Down equipment in question.

3. Click the Group with the Down equipment in question.

4. Click the square for the equipment in question.  The side information panel will load.

5. Click the Malfunctions tab on the side panel.

6. Normally, there SHOULD be a Task with an active malfunction listed in the side panel.  This would be driving the repair time hours.

7. In this case of Equipment CFM8085, the Malfunctions tab is blank, so you know there is a problem.

10. Click on the Extend icon to expand the workspace.

11. Click on the Tasks badge.

12. If there is more than one Task, click on the Task ID to view the task individually.

If a malfunction exists, this is what is driving your downtime.  Research and complete the malfunction as needed.
