How is Equipment Criticality Determined?

Updated on

Equipment Criticality is primarily determined by the Customer. Here are some basic guidelines that can be used to get things started.

Criticality What it means
1 - Critical Absolutely Necessary for Production.  Little/No Redundancy.
2 - Important Significant Impact to Production.  Limited Redundancy.
3 - Required Limited impact to production.  Multiple Redundancies.
4 - Low Little to No Impact to the Production of the Plant.
5 - Least Critical

If criticality needs to be changed, please make sure that the customer is involved and bought in to the new rating.
