FAQ/Job Plans - What is the benefit of creating a Reusable Job Plan?

Updated on

Frequently Asked Question re: Job Plans in the Planner Portal

Reusable Job Plans build on the Continuous Improvement Process.  At a minimum, they ensure that the fundamental, required steps are completed each time the work is performed.  As time goes on, they become a place for best practices, allowing for knowledge transfer and for capturing and sharing feedback.

The option for feedback is one of the biggest benefits of using an RJP.  Not only Techs, but Supervisors, can add step-specific or general feedback to the Job Plan.

Examples of general feedback could include:

  • Changes to duration
  • Specific Tools Needed
  • Addition of parts
  • Diagram/schematics of the machine
  • etc.

When creating a Reusable Job Plan, you may want to start by copying another job plan to start.  Encourage your Techs to add their feedback so that you can continue to build out your library.
