SPIRIT: How do I Scrap a Part?

Step by Step Instructions

  • Scrapping a part can only be done on on a part in an "UNUSABLE" state in the system.
  • If you are trying to remove a defective part from your system and it is not currently marked as "unusable", you must first move it to the unusable status.  This can be done one from the Logistics Manager, by a Misc Adjustment, choosing Transfer Usable to Unusable.

1. Inventory > Logistics > Logistics Manager.

2. From the Menu on the Left, select Misc Adjustments.

3. In the Header Area, select SCRAP from the Adjustment Reason* drop down window.

4. Enter the Part ID*. If you have a number of different parts, you will have to do each part on a different transaction.  

5. Enter the Quantity* that you want to scrap.

6. Enter the From Place*, in the Header (your site's ST###.)

For Spirit this is ST0000314741

7. Enter the From Location* in the Header.  

This will most likely be CORE

8. Enter the From Bin ID* in the Header.

The Bin ID can be left blank when scrapping a Part.

9. Enter any comments you may want to track the transaction.

10. Click Submit.

A pop-up “Stock Adjustment complete” shows you that the transaction has completed successfully.

Checking the Part Transaction log for that Part ID to verify the transaction (Inventory>Part Transactions>Enter Part ID).
