What kind of information is on the Part Details Report and when would the SCS use it?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

The Part Details report gives you basic part information as well part alternates, part replacements, part models and notes if available. The SCS might use this report if they are having trouble getting a requisition on a part -- to see if the part is in a blocked status, etc.

As always, you should run the report from the SSRS Reporting Server in the Portal vs. from the Reports menu in the CLIENT.  Running the Report from your browser has far less impact on the speed of the system,   If you want to enter the Reporting Server address in your browser window, you can do that.

If you are having trouble accessing the report, you can do it by using the Internal ATS reporting server:  https://ssrs-internal.advancedtech.com/Reports.  You must be VPN'd in to access the internal server.

1. From the main menu of the Work Module, click on Links and choose Reports from the drop-down list.

2. Click on the ATS_FMS_Reports folder.

3. Click on the Part Details tile.

4. To add this report to your favorites, click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the tile.

5. Click on the star next to Add to Favorites to move this to your Favorite folder.

6. Click Open.  The parameters will load.  All parameters have the null box checked.

In our example, we want to run the report for Part ID 100053467.  Uncheck the Null checkbox.  Enter the Part ID.  Click View Report.

7. Uncheck the Null checkbox and enter the information for the parameter you wish to run.

8. Click View Report.

9. The loading message will appear.

10. Once the bar below the parameter populates, you will know the report is processing successfully.

In this case, the part is not blocked, or obsolete, etc.  There is nothing that you can see here that would indicate why you shouldn't get a req.  If you DO find a problem with the part, please contact your Supply Chain Support team member for assistance in finding a replacement and/or resolving the issue.

11. If you wanted to export this to a file, just click on the floppy disc icon and choose the Excel, Word, or .pdf from the drop-down list.
