2.12 When would I mark a Task as IN PROGRESS/Carryover?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

Any Task that cannot be completed by the current Technician should be marked with a Task Status of IN PROGRESS and a Task Status Reason of Carryover.

There may be times when this is due to the fact that the job is longer than can be completed during one shift.  In this case, the first Technician who was working on it should change the status to Carryover if the work did not get finished in the original time-frame.

Portal

In the Portal, to find the Task you want to Carryover.

1. Highlight the line to load the task in the lower panel.

2. Click on Edit in the Task Summary panel.

3. From the Status Menu, choose Carryover.

4. Click SAVE.

  • If the Technician needs to be changed, the Supervisor will do that in the Daily Scheduling portal.
  • If your Supervisor or Planner/Scheduler is gone for the day, another Technician can pick up the work, if it is critical that it must be completed today.  The second Tech should enter all their time, notes, etc, just the same as always.
  • When the supervisor returns the next day, they will adjust the Daily Scheduling Queue to make sure it reflects the accurate time and skillsets.

5. The Status Reason and Technician will be displayed in the Task Summary panel.

As always, all Task statuses will appear in your pre-set task views, as well as reporting like the Shift Turnover report, etc.
