2.6 When would a Task be marked as "New"?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

The Task Status of NEW is used when the Task is first created.  This corresponds to a Work Order status of Open.  If it is emergency, P1/P2 Break in work, it may go directly to scheduling, if not, it will go to the P/S to begin planning.

Keep in mind, that following the WEM Process, these Tasks will automatically show in the Planner Portal for validation, etc.  However, they can still be seen under the Task List views and screen.

1. You can see the NEW Status under the Task Summary field and in the Grid.  To find the Task, click on the three lines next to the Task ID, enter the Task ID.  Highlight the line and the Task will load in the lower panel.  The automatic default is to the Task Summary view.

2. If you want to change the Status, simply click on EDIT in the Summary, change the Status, and click SAVE.

3. It is also visible in the summary screen of the portal. The NEW Task Status is sortable in the Grid.

4. NEW Tasks will feed into the Task Grid for the Planning Wizard.

This allows the Planner Scheduler to add steps and a duration to the task before scheduling the task.  Adding at least one more step and setting a duration allows the Task to have met the criteria for planned work.

Task Statuses, Status Reasons, and Sub-Types are viewable on the Shift Turnover Report and the Excel Export Report.
