2.4 What do I need to know about Corrective Maintenance Tasks / Reactive Work Orders?

Updated on

Essential Resources: To complete this training you must have access to eFACTORYPRO.

Remember, in eFACTORYPRO, the Task and the Work Order are put in at the same time.  There is no Notification that is turned into a Work Order.  If your equipment is broken or has something in need of repair, the work will be a Corrective Maintenance Task and is an MRCT Work Order (Reactive Maintenance).

1. A Corrective Maintenance Task is any repair that has an immediate impact to the operation of the equipment or production. Corrective Maintenance cannot wait because a line is down or not producing.

2. If the Task is put in as Corrective, IT CANNOT BE CHANGED TO ANOTHER TASK TYPE.  The Task and Work Order must be canceled if it was entered in error.

3. Any follow-up work that is created from a CM Task will also be Reactive.  You can plan it, but IT WILL NOT COUNT AS A PROACTIVE TASK (unless you use the Proactive Toggle.)

4. In the Customer Portal, the Customer is asked a question "Are you reporting an equipment issue?"  If they answers Yes, a CM Task is generated.

5. The Technician can put in a CM Task by choosing that Activity type through the Portal.

6. CM Tasks require Repair Codes (Wrench Icon) for Root Cause Analysis.

This is the only Task Type that requires Repair Codes.

7. CM Tasks often have Malfunctions associated with them.

Reduced = Machine can be run at partial rate or reduced speed until repair can be made.

Down = Machine is not operational.  Technician took it down to perform the repair.

Breakdown = Machine was not running when the Tech went to do the work. Also in the new portal if the malfunction start time is BEFORE to 1 minute AFTER the creation time of the Work Order  it will automatically be marked as a Breakdown.
