5.4 CONTROL CENTER: How do I enter a Production Schedule in the Work Module?

Updated on

In eFACTORYPRO, Production Schedules are created and updated in the Work Module. They are then attached to the Equipment Record in the Client.

  • You must have the Supervisor Role in your profile to be able to enter a Production Schedule.
  • You must also have access to the Site.  If this is an additional or new site for you, simply request access through my Enterprise or the Help Desk.

1. Log into the Module with your ATS Credentials.

2. From the Navigation Pane, click on the Control Center and select Production Schedule.

3. All of the existing Production Schedules are listed on the left.

4. Click the plus  button to add a new schedule.  All schedules assume a 24x7 time-frame and you enter the exceptions  -- in other words, you are entering when the machines are NOT running.

5. Production Schedules always begin with your four-digit site number, followed by hours x days (i.e. 24x7). In the following example, we are building a 18x6 schedule for the machines in the Assembly sub-location.

6. The production schedule runs from 6:00 am til 12 midnight on M-SA and does not run at all on Sunday.  Therefore we need to enter an exception for all day Sunday and everyday on Monday through Saturday from 12:00 am to 6:00 am.

7. Click the "For Availability" check box if this Production Schedule will be used in your metrics calculations for downtime.

Generally speaking, PSNONE is the only production schedule that is NOT Included in the Availability Metric.

8. Click Add Exception. A pop-up window appears.

9. The Day of the Week defaults to Sunday. You can change the day by clicking on the drop-down arrow.

10. Enter a Start Time.  The default is 12:00 am.

11. Enter an End Time that is later than the Start Time.  However, if you want to have an exception for the entire day, you can enter 12:00 am as the Start Time and End Time.

12. Enter the Start Date.  By default, the current date will populate, but if you wish you can click on the calendar to move the date by clicking on the calendar and using the arrows to move the date forward.

You are not able to move the date backwards, as this would affect machine availability.

13. If you wish to enter an End Date, you can enter it in this field.  If you enter an End Date, it must be at least one day later than the Start Date.

14. Often times, you want the Production Schedule to run until further notice, so all you have to do is click the "No End Date" checkbox.

The system defaults to NO End Date.

15. Enter a description:  It can be something simple like "Sundays off" or "Wednesday Mornings".

16. Click Save. If you made an error when entering the exception, click Cancel.

  • Once an exception has gone live, you should simply enter an end date if you will no longer be using that production schedule.
  • It is important that the history remains in case any research needs to be done into your Metrics.

17. Click SAVE and add to the schedules on the left.

If you wish to cancel out of the Production Schedule you are trying to add, click the Cancel button instead.

18. The Production Schedule is saved and is now loaded in the left panel.

You can see that when you highlight it, the schedule loads in edit mode.

19. Click the View Schedule Button.

20. A calendar view appears.  The red blocks show the time the production schedule is in effect.

The time is listed at the top of the red blocks for easy reference.

Click back on the Exception tab or any other schedule to continue.

Keep in mind, you will need to update all production schedules to ensure that this change is applied throughout the plant.

In our next example, the plant is going to be shut down from July 29-31th, 2022.  We want to update the 0493-24x7 Plant production schedule to affect this change.

21. With the 24x7 schedule highlighted, click + Exception. A pop-up window appears.

You will need to determine the corresponding Days of the Week for the shutdown dates.  In our example, the plant will be shut down for July 29th, 30th, and July 31st --  Friday through Sunday. Because we are editing the 24x7 schedule, there are no days that already exempted from the schedule.

22. Enter the Exception for Friday

22.1. Select the day of the week.

22.2. Start Time and End time are 12:00 am.

22.3. Click the start date on the calendar. In this case, it is Friday 7/29.

22.4. Deselect the No End Date box.

22.5. The End Date must be at least one day after the Start Date.

The default date will be the following year. So be careful when selecting a date in the near future. You will have to go back to the current year.

22.6. Enter the Description:  Plant is shutdown on this Monday.

22.7. Click Save.

23. Repeat the process for Saturday and Sunday.

Remember, as the end date must be one day past the start date, the end date for Sunday 7/31 will end up being in August.

24. The Temporary Exceptions will be listed on the screen, just below the standard exemptions if present.

Exceptions listed will be color coded:

Green - exception has no end date

Orange - exception expires in 3 to 28 days

Red - exception expires in less than 3 days

25. By clicking on the chevron, you can see the details.

26. If you click Disable, the expiration will be set to the existing day.

You will see a confirmation message.  Click Yes or No - depending on your desired result.

27. Clicking the Edit button will take you back to the pop-up box to make any necessary changes.

If you adjust anything, click SAVE in the dialogue.

28. You must always click SAVE in the header to keep any changes that you have made.
