1.8 As a Supervisor, how can I create PD Follow up Tasks in the Work Module?

Updated on

One of the newest additions to the Supervisor privileges is the ability to create new Predictive Work Orders and Tasks as well as follow-up PD tasks from existing MPRO open work orders.  The reason for this is simple.  Quite often sites have entered just a singular WO/Task to do their Predictive Route.  This makes sense when you think about it, because usually there is only one person doing the work -- so it is easier to manage.

Once the results come back from the analysis, it can be a completely different situation -- especially in a large sites.  You could easily have a large number of follow-up work orders that need to be entered and tied to the original work order.

As anyone who works in a large site can tell you, once you get to the point where you are talking about 30 or more follow-up tasks attached to a single work order, the time for the portal to retrieve that information can take a few minutes -- especially if your site has poor internet connectivity.

Because the Supervisor can now create Predictive Work Orders in the Work Module, we can follow a much more efficient process.

Going Forward:

Once you know that the kit is on it's way to you, the Supervisor can begin to create Work Orders and Tasks in the Work Module.  Remember that only people with the Supervisor credentials will have the ability to create PD work orders.

  • As a Best Practice, you will want to create Work Orders for each Sub-Location or Value Stream that is being analyzed.
  • This will allow you to have a workable amount of Follow-up Tasks (FM) attached to each work order after you get the results back.

Once your results have returned, you can enter either FM or PD follow up tasks to complete the needed work that was identified by this Predictive work order.

From here, you will want to put in tasks using the blue plus icon (as described below), as they have no compliance dates associated with them.

1. From the Tasks option in the Work Module, choose All Option Tasks.

2. Using the filter icon, find the PdM task you want to add to.

We have filtered by WO Type = MPRO and Task ID.

3. Highlight the line to load it in the lower panel.

4. From the original PdM Task, click on the blue plus icon

5. A pop-up box comes up.

6. Change the Task Type to PdM - Predictive.

7. The Priority defaults to 3.  You can raise or lower if necessary.

8. Add any sub-types if needed.

9. Enter a description of the work.

10. The proactive toggle is set to Yes by default.

11. Click Next.

12. Click on the Search Equipment button to search for the equipment or sub-location you want to use.

As this is a follow up task to the original work order, it would go against the specific piece of equipment where the issue was found.

13. Select Next .

14. The team will default to the assigned team for the equipment or sub-location.  You can change it if needed.

15. Click Save.

16. Continue this process for all of the equipment on which you will be performing follow-up predictive maintenance.

Be sure NOT to close the WO/Task until all the Follow UP Tasks have been entered.
