1.3 As a Supervisor, how do I Cancel a Task in the Work Module?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

ATS employees with Technician level access on up can cancel Tasks from MOTH or MRCT Work Orders in the Work Module.  They can also cancel any follow-up tasks entered from all Work Order Types (even proactive.)

You must, however, have supervisor permissions to Cancel a PM or PdM in the Work Module.

This is only possible when there are no Labor, Consumed Parts, Repair Codes or a Malfunction against the Task.

2. There will be a Confirm Task Cancellation dialog box. Select YES.

3. A confirmation will appear in the upper right corner of the upper panel.

4. This will be reflected in the upper panel and the Task Summary views.

5. Assuming that there was just one task to the Work Order, the Work Order will cancel as well.

This task had regenerated in error, so it should actually be Canceled with a Sub-Status of Duplicate so that it does not effect your site metrics.

6. Click on the pencil icon in the Work Order Summary to bring up the pop-up box.

7. Under Sub-Status, choose Duplicate.

8. Click Save.

Remember, you must change the Schedule Due Date and PM Schedule Rule twice to prevent the PM from generating again.

From the Supervisor role, this Work Order can be re-opened and re-assigned to a Technician during the Review Process.

When a Task is canceled it will still be visible to the user.  However, once the task goes through the review process, you must submit a request to OpEx to get it re-opened if necessary.

Regardless of the Task type, if there is a malfunction present and the task needs to be canceled, the user must first DELETE the Malfunction if it were entered upon creation.
