1.7 As a Supervisor, how can I create PD Work Orders/ Tasks in the Work Module?

Updated on

One of the newest additions to the Supervisor privileges is the ability to create new Predictive Work Orders and Tasks in the Work Module.  We have also added the ability for Supervisors to add PD follow-up tasks in the Module. The reason for this is simple.  Quite often sites have entered just a singular WO/Task to do their Predictive Route - which often causes problems for large sites in managing the amount of work.

As a Supervisor, you now have the ability to create a predictive task in the Work Module for each sub-location and each predictive process you are going to perform.

Once you know that the kit is on it's way to you, the Supervisor can begin to create Work Orders and Tasks in the Work Module.  Remember that only people with the Supervisor credentials will have the ability to create PD work orders.

  • As a Best Practice, you will want to create Work Orders for each Sub-Location or Value Stream that is being analyzed.
  • This will allow you to have a workable amount of Follow-up Tasks (FM) attached to each work order after you get the results back.

Follow the steps below to create the initial PdM Work Orders/Tasks.

1. From the Tasks option in the Work Module, choose All Option Tasks.

2. Click the +WORK ORDER button.

3. A pop-up box comes up.

4. Change the Task Type to PdM - Predictive.

5. The Priority defaults to 3.  You can raise or lower if necessary.

6. Enter a description of the work.

7. The proactive toggle is set to Yes by default.

8. Click Next.

9. Click on the drop-down arrow to search for sub-location you want to use.

As these are a route for a Value Stream/Sub-location, choose sub-locations, be sure to put the Work Order/Task against the Sub-location vs. a piece of Equipment.

10. Click Next.

11. You will be given the option to enter additional notes.

12. Click Next.

13. The team will default to the assigned team for the equipment or sub-location.  You can change it if needed.

14. The Contact's First and Last Name plus Email are listed.  You can change them if needed.

15. Click Save.

16. A confirmation message appears.  Click View Task to load the task in the lower panel.

17. Steps, Planned Duration, etc. will be added when the Job Plan is added in the Planning Wizard.

Continue this process for all of the sub-locations on which you wish to perform Vibration analysis.

Once your results come back from the assessment, you will need to create follow-up PdM Tasks against each sub-location following the process outlined here.
