1.7 Mobile App - Technician: Task and Work Order views

Updated on

Task Status -

Now that you understand how Task Status and Task Status Reasons interact, it will be a little easier to see how these fit into the various pre-set views and grids in the Mobile App. As a Technician the default view on the task list is All Open Tasks.

When the Technician logs into the Mobile App, the first thing that they will see is the Home Screen.  To see the Task List, they just click that button at the bottom of the iPad.

All Task Status:

  1. New
  2. In Planning
  3. Ready For Execution
  4. In Progress
  5. Hold
  6. Completed
  7. Canceled
  8. Canceled-Reviewed
  9. Reviewed
  • As a best practice, you should always leave the Status Reasons in "Select All", unless you are specifically trying to view only one specific type.
  • The reason behind this is, if you select a status with a status reason that is mismatched, the task grid will be blank -- you will see no results.

Preset Task Views -

1. All Open Tasks  shows all Work Order/Task types with statuses of In Progress, Hold, In Planning, New and Ready for Execution -- regardless of whether or not they have been scheduled in the Planner Portal.  This is a good overview of all open work to be done.

2. All Carryover Tasks will show any Tasks that have the status of In Progress and status reason of Carryover.  This is work that was started but not able to be completed, and needs to be finished on a later shift, or on a different day depending on the criticality.

3. Today's Schedule will show you all Tasks for the day as planned by management. All technicians, and task types are represented, all Task Statuses are in the open status.

4. Down and Reduced is a view where you can easily see the tasks driving the down and reduced statuses in the plant.  In this case, it includes all task statuses (even Canceled, Completed, etc.)

Remember, this view is showing Tasks related to Down and Reduced equipment.  You will see both the Malfunction type and the current operating status.  You can sort by the Asset ID to get an idea of what is happening with the task.

5. Recent Customer Tasks is an important view.  It shows all tasks that have been put in by ANYONE in the last 24 hours.  This is a rolling 24 hour period so it always shows the latest 24 hour's worth of tasks. This includes tasks generated by both customer and technicians.  It includes all task types and all task statuses (including Canceled, Reviewed and Completed.)  If the task has been assigned in the Daily Scheduling view, it will show who it is assigned to.

6. Open Safety Tasks show any tasks in the 5 open statuses that have been marked with the Safety Sub-type.  The vast majority of these tasks will have a priority of 1-Emergency, unless they have intentionally been changed after creation.

7. Open Tasks WMAT:  This is the only view that actually keys off the Task Status Reason:  Waiting on Materials.  There are two task statuses that can be associated with WMAT:  In Planning and HOLD.  Remember, that if your site handles inventory for the customer, and the part is out of stock, EFP will automatically place the task on HOLD/WMAT until the part is back in stock.  Exporting this view to Excel is a great way to see all the tasks that need SCS intervention.

8. All Open PMs shows every pm currently generated and in one of the open statuses.  This view is a good place to get an overview of the overall proactive work for the next month+ at your site.

9. Low Priority shows tasks in all statuses (including Canceled, Completed, and Reviewed) that have a priority of 4-Low or 5-Backlog.

10. Reviewed Tasks shows all tasks that have been through the Review process. This view includes Canceled tasks that have been reviewed.  They will show up in a Canceled-Reviewed Status.

11. The final option is All Tasks.  As you might guess, it shows everything: All task types, task statuses, status reasons, assigned in Daily Scheduling and unassigned, etc.

With all of these views, you can use the sorting and filter options to further customize your search.  When you do this, the view name changes to Custom
