1.12 Mobile App - As a Technician, what do the NOTES line codes mean in eFACTORYPRO?

Updated on

There are a number of places where you can enter a Note in the EFP Mobile App.  The type of Line Code that is used for the note is set by the software and should not be changed.  A description of the codes that are available are listed below.

REPAIR

When labor is entered by the Technician, a note (classified Repair) will be captured by for the person who entered the note.

After the Note has been populated the user can navigate to that Notes icon to view the note. They can them select that specific Notes to view that notes summary. The Summary is where the line code can be edited if necessary.

When the customer does not have enough room to enter a full description when creating a work order, and enters additional information in the comment field, it will show up under Notes and will be classified with the Repair Line Code.

When a Reactive Work Order/Corrective Maintenance Task is entered, Repair Codes are required.  The Technician has the ability to enter text to further explain the repair.  Even though it does not populate in the Notes section, the Line Code used to store the information is Repair.

Another time you will see Repair as the Line Code is when the Task is sent back to the Technician during the review process.  The Supervisor will enter a note and then send the Task back.  It will show up in a Rework Required Status.  Going to the Notes tab, you'll see the comment that the Supervisor added saying what needed to be fixed.

MISC

MISC is a code that can be used by any ATS personnel.  It is for anything that really doesn't fall under the other categories.

Please note that the only place you will see the MISC line code is in the Mobile App under the Notes badge or the CLIENT under the Notes tab.

Examples of things people use the MISC code for include:

  • Duplicate WO
  • Canceling WO - Operator took care of this
  • Customer wants just door opener replaced for now, will replace entire door in the fall
  • RCAs created and assigned, job plans updated.

VALIDATION – Verification Device & VALIDATION – Asset Improvement

These Line Codes were added specifically for one of our customers who needed a way to designate comments surrounding the Quality and Testing areas of their plant.

"Validation - Verification Device" is generally used for comments on how you validated that the machine is working properly or the repair has solved the problem.

"Validation - Asset Improvement" is used if you have made a change to the equipment due to the issue found.

SUPPORT

The final Line Code that is visible in the Mobile App is Support.  This code is primarily used by the Supply Chain Specialist and Purchasing Department to communicate with the team.

Please note that the only place you will see the SUPPORT line code is in the Mobile under the Notes badge or the CLIENT under the Notes tab.

Examples of things people use the SUPPORT code for include:

  • Tracking number for parts
  • Update on part delivery dates
  • Kitting information
  • Vendor needs additional information to identify correct part needed.
