3.11 Mobile App - As a Technician, what do I need to know about the ATTACHMENT section of the Task?

Updated on

Steps in the screen shots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

Attachments are never required on a Task, but may be helpful in some cases.  One suggestion for using Attachments is Critical Finds.  For example, a site is doing an annual PM on one of their Critical 1 Press machines.  They find a broken gear so they grabbed a picture to include in their upcoming Metrics presentation to the Customer.

  • Click the Choose File button.
  • Choose File will open a dialog box for you to choose the item to upload.
  • Enter a Description.
  • Click Save.
  • Once added, the attachment can be view by everyone.

Take advantage of your mobile app by taking a photo using your device for quick upload into the EFP system.

1. From the Task screen, select the ATTACH. icon.

2. Select the blue + icon in the top right corner .

Users will be able to select a location to choose from or open the camera to take a picture to directly upload.

3. Select one of the icons to add an attachment. The Camera icon allows you to take a picture using the iPad. The Photo icon allows you to select a photo from the iPad. The File Icon allows you to select a file from the iPad.

4. Enter a Note of the file (optional).

5. Select Save.

6. A confirmation message tells you that the file was successfully uploaded.

7. The attachment is uploaded and will now be able to been seen and downloaded by other users.

While there is no size limit for attachments, we do ask that you use your best judgment.

  • Larger files,  like OEM manuals, should be scanned and kept in the Knowledge Base.
  • The attachment section works best for documenting Critical finds, or attaching a small word document or .PDF with specific instructions if necessary.

4. Enter the URL.

5. Select Save.
