8.1 | How do I "Masquerade" as a Customer to place an order in eCommerce?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

1. Log into buy.advancedtech.com with your normal credentials.

2. Anyone who is buying for multiple customers (FMS Buyers, IPS Sales Reps, etc.) will see the  dashboard once they log in.

3. The list of companies you can buy for will populate.

4. To buy for one of them select  LOG IN under "Company Admin Impersonation".

5. Once you have selected a specific company the LOG IN button will change to Selected.

6. In the upper left the company you are masquerading as will be displayed.

From this point onward all transactions will be under the company's name.

You will want to LOG OUT when you need to switch to another site/company and clear your cart at the beginning of each transaction to ensure that nothing carries over from your previous login.

Any confirmation emails or updates to the order will be sent to the buyer to communicate with the site. This is also true if the price changes on the order -- that information will go to the buyer's email, to confirm the price and approve/reject the amount.
