8.12 | What if a Tax-Exempt customer is being charged tax in eCommerce?

Updated on

Either contact the eCommerce administrator to verify that customer show as tax exempt or contact ATS Customer Service Team to verify tax exemption status.

If you feel that a customer should not be taxed when checking out in eCommerce, you can either:

1. Contact the eCommerce administrator to check the tax exemption status within the eCommerce admin panel.

2. Contact ATS Customer Service to check in Salesforce CPQ and/or ASTEA to see if the customer has a tax exempt certificate on file and should be classified as tax exempt.  There is a "tax exempt" checkbox in Salesforce CPQ that directly integrates to the tax exemption field in eCommerce.

3. Continue with placing the order and follow up with a message to Customer Service to verify the tax exemption status.  The order will need to be modified after checkout and resubmitted by Customer Service to remove the sales tax prior to invoicing.
