6.23 How do I create an alternate address on a Place Record?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

The only roles who have the access to create an Alternate Address on the Ship-To Place Record are the following:  Admin, IT Ops Support, or Supply Chain Support.

Alternate Addresses are used when a Site has multiple plants or warehouses associated with their ST#.  To ensure that the POs automatically ship to the proper address, alternate addresses are added by Start-up or the SCS Support Team when the site is created.  Here are the directions on how to do that.

1. From the main menu, go to to Service > Places.  Another option would be to type Places in the system search in the upper right corner and then click on the tab that populates.

2. Expand the red chevron in the search field.

3. Enter your four-digit site number.

4. Click the green magnifying glass.  The site records will load.

5. Click on the ST# panel in the search results.  This is your Ship To Record for the site.

You will always use the ST# (vs. the BT#) when dealing with the site.

6. Click on Addresses in the lower tabs.

7. At a minimum, the default address will be shown.

8. If Alternate Addresses already exist, they will be listed under the default.

9. To add another Alternate, click on New button.

If you do not see the New button, you do not have the proper credentials to perform this operation.  Please contact the help desk.

10. Click SAVE in the header or Ctrl + S to complete the process.

Once the address has been entered, only those with the ADMIN role can edit it.   Edits should only be made in terms of need, and alternate addresses should NOT be created as a one off.
