ATS has various contract variations depending on customer needs. In some cases, we manage the inventory for the customer, while in others, we do not.

This training will guide technicians working at a site where ATS manages parts inventory on when to mark a task as 'Hold/Waiting on Materials' in the Work Module.

If your site’s inventory is purchased and tracked in EFP, the system automatically checks stock levels and places the task on 'HOLD/Waiting on Materials' (or 'IN PLANNING/WMAT*') if materials are unavailable until the part is restocked. For sites not responsible for inventory, this validation is bypassed in the system.

*The task will either go to 'Hold' or 'In Planning' depending on its initial status.

If your site does NOT manage parts this article will be more useful: How does Hold-Waiting on Materials work for sites not managing parts in EFP?

Because the quantity on hand is zero, the Task status will automatically go to HOLD/WMAT until the part is received into stock.

8. The Task now has a status of Hold/ Waiting On Materials (WMAT).

Once the part is delivered to the site and received, the task’s status will automatically revert to its original status.
