Essential Resources: To complete this training you must have access to eFactoryPro.

This training will take you through what the notes line codes mean in eFactoryPro.

There are several places to enter a Note in the EFP Work Module. The Line Code type for the note is preset by the software and should not be altered. Below is a list of available codes.

Available Note Line Codes:

Repair

The "Repair" code is the most commonly used in the system. It typically indicates that the note relates to Technicians or Maintenance, rather than Supply Chain or Purchasing.

When a Technician enters labor, a note classified as "Repair" will be recorded for the individual who entered it.

If the customer doesn't have enough space to enter a full description when creating a work order and adds more details in the comment field, it will appear under Notes and be classified with the "Repair" Line Code as shown below.

For Reactive Work Orders or Corrective Maintenance Tasks, Repair Codes are mandatory. The Technician can add text to provide more details about the repair. Although this information doesn't appear in the Notes section, the Line Code used to store it is still "Repair", as shown below.

You'll also see "Repair" as the Line Code when a Task is sent back to the Technician during the review process. The Supervisor adds a note and returns the Task, which will appear under a "Rework Required" status. In the Notes tab, you'll find the Supervisor's comment explaining what needs to be fixed.

Miscellaneous

The "Miscellaneous" code can be used by any ATS personnel for notes that don't fit into other categories.

It's only visible in two places: the Work Module under the Notes badge and the CLIENT under the Notes tab.

Examples of things people use the "Miscellaneous" code for include:
  • Duplicate WO
  • Canceling WO - Operator took care of this
  • Customer wants just door opener replaced for now, will replace entire door in the fall
  • RCAs created and assigned, job plans updated.
Validation – Verification Device & Validation – Asset Improvement

These Line Codes were specifically added for one of our customers who needed a way to designate comments related to the Quality and Testing areas of their plant.

  • The "Validation - Verification Device" code is typically used for comments explaining how you validated that the machine is functioning correctly or that the repair has resolved the issue.
  • The "Validation - Asset Improvement" code is used when a change has been made to the equipment as a result of the issue identified.
Support

The final Line Code visible in the Work Module is "Support." This code is mainly used by the Supply Chain Specialist and Purchasing Department to communicate with the team.

You'll only see the "Support" Line Code in two places: the Work Module under the Notes badge and the CLIENT under the Notes tab.

Examples of things people use the Support code for include:
  • Tracking number for parts
  • Update on part delivery dates
  • Kitting information
  • Vendor needs additional information to identify correct part needed.
