5.3 Quick Reference Guide  - Entering a Reason for PM Non-Compliance in the Work Module as a Technician

Updated on

Step by Step Instructions

1. Ensure all necessary information has been entered under the appropriate icons so that the PM is ready to be completed.

If the PM is out of the Compliance Window, you will be prompted that you cannot complete the WO/Task without entering a Reason for Variance.

2. From the Task Summary, click Edit, then click the drop-down menu next to Reason for Variance.

3. Select the appropriate reason that the PM was not finished within the compliance window from the Reason for Variance box.

Choose from:

  • Documentation Unavailable
  • Equipment Unavailable
  • Part Unavailable
  • Personnel Needed
  • Planning Inadequate
  • Scope of Work Changed
  • Safety Equipment Unavailable
  • Tool Unavailable
  • Training Needed

4. Click Save.

5. Click the green COMPLETE TASK button in the lower panel to complete the task.

6.

7. A reason for variance will also be necessary if canceling a PM in the Work Module.

A PM can now be canceled in the Work Module as long as NO WORK have been logged against it. If this is done it will require  a reason for variance. This can be done on a PM that is IN or OUT of the compliance window. If a PM is canceled in the work module that PM will NOT regenerate until its NEXT scheduled date.
