3.18 As a Technician, how do I Customize the Grid View in the Work Module?

Updated on

Essential Resources: To complete this training you must have access to eFACTORYPRO.

This training will take you through customizing your grid view to help you better find specific work.

The default view of the grid in the Work Module will look like this. There will be 22 different columns of information. But there are many ways to customize this grid to make it easier for the user.

1. Newest to Oldest - This will be the default order in the Task ID and all other columns will default according to this order.

2. Ascending order.

3. Descending order.

If the column is populated with words instead of numbers the default order will be numeric according to to Task ID.

4. When hovering over the dividing line the user will get the double arrow icon indicating that the column width can be modified.

This can be done on ALL columns.

5. The columns can also be re-ordered.

This can be done by grabbing and dragging a column left or right.

6. Each column will have a 3 line icon when you hover over the header. When selected users will get multiple options:

  • Pin Column: this will allow the user to Pin it to the right, Pin it to the left, or not to have it pinned. Pinning it to the left or right mean that nothing can be dragged outside of it (see above).
  • Autosize This Column: will resize the column to an optimal width where all info in the column can be seen.
  • Autosize All Columns: will do the same as Autosize This Column but to ALL the columns.

7. Next to the the 3 line icon (horizontal) there is another 3 line icon (vertical) that will give the users the option to DESELECT column.

So you will be able to take the grid view from 19 column to however many you need. This can be done simply by unchecking the the boxes you do not want to see.

In this example we took 5 different columns out. Notice the extra space to the right. This will allow users to view specifically what they want and have more room to expand the columns that are present. Combine this with reordering the column and the users can produce a VERY specific grid made to their liking.

8. Once the grid has been modified it will stay that way for that user.

While users can not save multiple grid views at this time they will have the option to keep it the way they modified it.

There are two options from the 3 dot icon in the upper right corner:

9. Autosize All Columns - like explained above, this option will resize all columns that are currently displayed.

10. Reset Columns - this option will set the whole grid back to its default view.

One last feature you may find helpful.  When you have something highlighted, you will see that there are a number of options you can do right from the grid.  Right click on a cell to see which options may be available.
