6.5 What shows up in "recently used" parts?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

When working in the part screen, the bottom half of the screen will always show you the "recently used parts."  What shows up in this screen is dependent, in part, on how the top of the screen is filtered.

Lets go over some of the basic functionality you can expect to see regardless of how the top portion of the screen is filtered.

NO SELECTION

Without having selected a Commodity Group, or piece of Equipment, or having searched for a part using the search field, you will see the last 15 parts that were used in the site.

This is updated each time a part is CONSUMED on a task.

  • This happens almost in "real time".
  • There are basically three screens of recently used parts, which can be accessed by using the arrows at the left/right of the screen.

COMMODITY GROUP

Another option where you will see frequently used parts is when you go to the Commodity Groups.

Once you get used to sorting by Commodity Group, it will probably be the search functionality you use the most.  For information on Commodity Groups, click here.

Once the Commodity Group is selected, the Recently Used Part section will change to show up to 15 of the last used parts in that commodity group.

Keep in mind, there is no time restriction on this panel, so if you are looking for a part in a commodity group that you don't use very often, there may be some parts that you used several months ago in the "recently used parts."

This is good, because it gives you specific information for the history of your site.

EQUIPMENT

Recently Used Parts on Equipment works slightly differently.  Searching by the equipment, if the tile is written in blue font, it indicates that there is a Bill of Material on the machine.  If the tile is in light gray font and you cannot click on it, that means that there is NOT a BOM for that Asset ID.  If there is no BOM, a message will also be displayed at the bottom of the panel.

In our screenshot below,  the machine on the second line is the only one without a BOM.

Until you select a panel, the Recently used parts are still showing the last 15 recently used parts at the site.

As soon as you click on the tile to select a piece of equipment, the recently used parts for the equipment are loaded at the bottom.  These match the parts on the Bill of Material for that equipment model.

Notice that the arrows are grayed out, so in this case, there are only 7 parts available.  This matches what we see in the CLIENT on the BOM.
