8.7 | When do I need to enter a reason for variance?

Updated on

It is always a good idea to stay on top of your data!!!  If you update data older than 4 months, you will not see the changes until the following Monday.  (It refreshes Sunday overnight.)  If your data is older than 13 months, it may not be worth updating.  The changes will not show up until the second day of the next month.

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

If you have completed a PM that is out of Compliance... either BEFORE or After the COMPLIANCE WINDOW, eFACTORYPRO will make it mandatory for you to enter a Reason for Variance before marking the task as Complete.

1. If you try to mark a PM as Completed and it is after the Compliance End date you will get a message 'Correct the following before completing this task: Enter Reason for Variance'.

2. From the summary select EDIT.

3. From the Edit Task dialog box select the drop down arrow for Reason for Variance.

Reasons include:

  • Documentation Unavailable
  • Equipment Unavailable
  • Part Unavailable
  • Personnel Needed
  • Planning Inadequate
  • Scope of Work Changed
  • Safety Equipment Unavailable
  • Tool Unavailable
  • Training Needed
  • Verification Device

4. Select appropriate reason.

5. Select SAVE.

All other task steps will need to be completed before the user gets to this process (i.e. steps, notes, labor).

6. Task can now be marked as Completed.
