9.4 "The Big 5"

It is always a good idea to stay on top of your data!!!  If you update data older than 4 months, you will not see the changes until the following Monday.  (It refreshes Sunday overnight.)  If your data is older than 13 months, it may not be worth updating.  The changes will not show up until the second day of the next month.

There are five metrics that are usually considered "The Big Five."  If you look at a site's performance in these areas, you can get a pretty good idea of how the site is performing.

1. Equipment Availability

There are a number of ways you can look at this metric:  Power BI will show you two options in each report.  The first shows both scheduled and unscheduled downtime, the second shows unscheduled downtime only.  Because is is available in each reports (Monthly, Monthly Critical 1, MFTDS, etc.) , the option to break it out by equipment criticality, by equipment groups, etc. is already built into the reporting options.

2. Proactive vs. Reactive.

Although the chart shows Total Hours (Proactive, Reactive and Other), the calculation excludes "other".  The Proactive Percentage charts includes any work that was marked Proactive with the Proactive Toggle, while the PM/PdM% includes only Work Orders/Tasks that are truly proactive in nature:  PM, PdM and any follow-up tasks (FM) from that work.

3. PM Compliance/Completion

There are a number of metrics associated with MPRO Work Orders/Tasks, but the two most common are Compliance and Completion.  Although many customers are mainly concerned with Completion, from a reliability standard, Compliance is the metric that will ensure that the machine is proactively serviced on a regular schedule.

4. MBTF

MBTF stands for Mean Time Between Failure.  A failure is any task that the malfunction shows as Breakdown = Yes.  In eFACTORYPRO, it is important that if the task was put in with the machine being down in error, you must DELETE the malfunction, so that you don't have a skewed MBTF metric. Very generally speaking, the larger the number in your MBTF metric, the better.

5. MTTR

MTTR stands for Mean time to repair.  This is the average time needed to restore a machine back to full operating status after a breakdown.  Very generally speaking, the smaller the number in your MTTR metric, the better.
