9.9 Planned

Updated on

It is always a good idea to stay on top of your data!!!  If you update data older than 4 months, you will not see the changes until the following Monday.  (It refreshes Sunday overnight.)  If your data is older than 13 months, it may not be worth updating.  The changes will not show up until the second day of the next month.

When ATS transitioned from EFP2 to EFP3, it was decided to add a "Planned" metric to help judge the sites operational efficiencies.  In order to be considered as Planned, the Task must have more than one step, and a duration.  Typically we also like to see the Start date/time as something different than the Created date/time, and the Date Planned field is filled in.

PMs and PdM are automatically considered as Planned.  It is NOT the case that ALL proactive work is considered planned, because any follow-up tasks (FMs), generate only with one step and a zero duration.  They must go through the planning process to be included in the Planned metric.

At the request of the business, it was determined that all MRCT and MOTH work would generate with a zero duration.  The thought process behind that was to not inflate the site's backlog, and to give the site greater control over the planning/scheduling process.

The Planned Metric only measures work that has been planned and has been COMPLETED.

At this point, we are only measuring how much is planned, not the accuracy of the planning.

  • If, for example, you say the task is going to take 2 hours, and it takes 3, you will get credit for all three hours of work in your planned metric.
  • If it was not completed on the day it was supposed to be, this is tracked, but the task still counts in your planned metric.

At some point in the future, we WILL be measuring Planning Accuracy - meaning you budgeted that the job would take one person for two hours, and in actuality it took two people 2.5 hours each.  As this has a huge impact on scheduling, it is important to track that metric.  Late in 2021, we should be rolling out the Scheduling Component of the Planner Portal, and sometime afterwards
