2.1 How do I Edit a Report in Power BI?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

Regardless of the type of license you have, you will want to reach out to the FMS System Support Team to get involved when you need a report edited if that report is contained in the FMS Metrics Reports Bundle.

With a professional license, it is accessed through the Site Workspace, but many of the same restrictions still remain.  A call to the FMS System Support Team will help ensure you are familiar with the process to copy/edit/save as both a page in a report or a report as a whole.

1. With a Consumer license, you will access the FMS Metrics Report through the Shared with Me Option.

The FMS Metrics Reports use bookmarks to set their filters.  If you change a filter without knowing what you are doing, you can mess up all the navigation for the report.

2. If you have a Consumer license, you will NOT be able to edit a report other than changing a filter.

These filters will only change for you, not others in your Site Workgroup.

If you want to import them into a PowerPoint, FMS System Support would have to do a slide for you, or you would have to make sure that you were ALWAYS going to use that report ONLY in that formation.

3. From the home page, click on the report you want to enter.

4. Select the filter option you wish to view.

5. Click on the Page you want to load.  We are going to load the Monthly Proactive Report.

6. The charts load with the filter panel is expanded on the right.

Monthly defaults to the Equipment Group of Machine Type and Sublocation.  For the purpose of this example, we are going to add Facilities.

7. Notice that the Equipment Group is under "Filters on all Pages".  That means that any change you make to the proactive chart will also affect all the charts that were listed in screenshot #5.

8. Click on Facilities to add it to the filtered options.

Notice how the card on the bottom has changed.  Without Facilities added in, the Proactive Hours % was 53.1%.  With Facilities added in, it is now 54.6.

You could import this slide into your PowerPoint if you want, but keep in mind this filter will NOT save.  When you go to refresh the deck and update the slide, it will only pull data for Equipment and Sublocation.

When you exit the App, the original defaults are reset.
