8.4 How does marking my task as "Proactive" affect my metrics?

Updated on

It is always a good idea to stay on top of your data!!!  If you update data older than 4 months, you will not see the changes until the following Monday.  (It refreshes Sunday overnight.)  If your data is older than 13 months, it may not be worth updating.  The changes will not show up until the second day of the next month.

Users now have the ability to mark MRCT and MOTH tasks as Proactive.  This can be done at any time during the process:  when the Tech is creating the task or when the Supervisor is reviewing the task.  This Proactive Toggle should only be used for “Maintenance work that is completed in order to avoid failures or to identify defects that could lead to failures.”

1. All the "Proactive Percentage" charts in Power BI will now include the tasks that have been manually flagged as Proactive.

2. This means whatever version you use in your Metrics Deck (Monthly, Monthly Critical 1&2, Monthly MFTDS, etc.), the "Proactive Percentage" chart will automatically be updated to include tasks that have been classified Proactive with the new Proactive Toggle.

3. A new set of charts called “PM/PdM Percentage” will be based on the original measurement targeting Preventative Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), and any follow-up tasks created from these task types.

4. It is the "PM/PdM Percentage" chart that drives the number on the Balanced Scorecard.  This relates back to the standard SMRP definition of  Proactive Work, so it is this number we will use to drive up the amount of standard Proactive Maintenance Plans within our business.

Proactive Work SMRP Definition

Maintenance work that is completed in order to avoid failures or to identify defects that could lead to failures. It includes routine preventive and predictive maintenance activities and work tasks identified from these defects.
