It is always a good idea to stay on top of your data!!! If you update data older than 4 months, you will not see the changes until the following Monday. (It refreshes Sunday overnight.) If your data is older than 13 months, it may not be worth updating. The changes will not show up until the second day of the next month.
Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.
There are three tabs on the Backlog report.
1. The first shows your Current Backlog. Current Backlog is the same thing as your Total backlog. It contains all the open Work Orders/Task.
2. As always, the date chart gives you the Breakdown by Month. In this case, it goes back as far as there is open data.
3. The Pareto on the right will show the breakdown by Age. Depending on how your filters are set, you may see 6 months of data or you may see all data.
To expand the filters, click on the chevron in the far right FILTERS panel to view the visualization, page and report level filters.
4. The Card will show the details for the current month.
5. The second tab shows you more detail on your Current Backlog status.
6. The top left panel breaks the information down into Planned, Unplanned and Ready.
- Unplanned: The Tasks are either not planned or scheduled, or they my be scheduled (planned start date changed) but they haven;t been planned (estimated duration is still blank, and/or does not have more than one step.)
- Planned is defined as Tasks that have been planned but not scheduled. A planned task has more than one step entered and the estimated duration is not blank.
- Ready tasks have been both planned and scheduled. Scheduled means the Planned Start Date/Time has changed.
- These definitions are housed on the NOTES Tab for your reference. (#13)
7. The next graphic shows you the Estimated hours by task type.
The normal cross filtering functionality works as expected. If you click on one of the work order types, the rest of the chars will filter to show only the associated data.
