3.1 How do I request access to Power BI Apps for my supporting metrics?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

If you use the Customer's CMMS, but provide data from ATS for Safety, Voice of the Customer and Cost Savings on your monthly presentation to the Customer, these metrics are now accessed through an App in Power BI. The first step is to request a Power BI license in MyEnterprise.

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

1. Go to the ATS Homepage.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the MyEnterprise Request System.

3. Log in with your ATS Credentials.

4. In the middle of the page, under myActions / Request Something, choose Request Application Access.

5. Target user defaults to ATS Employee. Leave it as is.

The system assumes the ticket is for you.  Please be sure to note throughout if you are requesting access for someone else.

6. Under application, choose Power BI from the drop-down list.

7. For Dataset view, choose FMS from the drop-down list.

8. Enter your four-digit site number.

9. Select Add Access.

The following four fields, while not "required", will ensure the fastest, most accurate set-up.

10. Under Business Unit, choose FMS again.

11. Choose the appropriate Region.

12. Choose the appropriate Area.

13. Select the appropriate Site.

14. List the features and access you need.

  • If you are requesting multiple-site access, please list all the sites needed separated by the column or pipe key:  493|443.
  • If you need access to an entire area or region, please list that in the comments and features/functionality request.

15. Sum it up in the Comments field: Who is access for? What access is needed? For a single site or multiple? An area? A region? Which apps are needed?

16. Click the green checkmark to submit your request.

17. A confirmation message will appear and a KSR number is listed.

The request is now sent to your 1-up manager for approval.  Once approved, the IT department will issue the license and give you access.  You will receive an email notification once the ticket is closed.  This is the trigger to let you know that you can move to the next step.
