3.21 How do I add a bin in the Work Module?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

People with the Supply Chain Specialist role in their profiles have the ability to create new bins through the Portal.

1. Click on the Supply Chain role in the Masthead.

2. The default screen is Issue Part.  Click on Bins.

3. Select the desired location from the drop-down menu:  ATS for ATS owned parts, Customer for Customer-owned parts.

The default for the screen is ATS owned merchandise.  If you want to create bins in the Customer location, you MUST click on the drop down and change the window to say Customer owned parts.

4. Click on the Red Plus Sign (Floating Action Button) and choose + Bin.

5. Enter the Bin Name.

6. Click SAVE.

7. A confirmation message tells you that the bin has successfully been created.

Both a Non-Repair/standard bin for New Stock and a Repair bin for Repaired Stock are created.

The bin for Repaired Stock Bin ends in -R.

Although the -R (Repaired Stock) Bins are automatically created every time a standard bin is created, the -R Bin IDs are not used at this time.

8. You can search for the bin by clicking on the three lines next to the bin name.

9. To edit or delete the bin, highlight the row with the Bin ID you wish to modify.

You can also edit/delete by using the Floating Action Button.

10. Click Edit in the Summary panel.

11. Modify the description as needed and click SAVE.

12. If you want to delete the bin, you can do that, too.  In order for the bin NOT to show as a duplicate, you must remove BOTH the New Stock and the Repaired Stock bins.  Click Delete in the upper left corner.

13. Click YES to Confirm Deletion.

14. A Confirmation Message will appear in the upper right corner.

15. eFACTORYPRO prevents you from adding duplicate bins.  If you attempt to add a bin when one exists, you will receive this message:

Remember, BINS are LOCATION specific.  If you want to have bin 01Z01 in both the ATS and Customer Locations, you would have to manually add it to each.
