2.3 How do I see which Work Order and Task the Requisition is being generated for?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

If you have a Requisition that kicks off with the PO Type of Work Order, that means that the parts that are contained on the Req are being ordered for use on a Task.  To find out more information:

1. From the Main Menu, go to Inventory > Purchasing > Purchase Order.

2. Expand the red chevron and enter your Req # in the Requisition ID field.

You can complete other information if desired, but just entering the Req # is enough to bring up the Req.

3. Click the green magnifying glass to bring up the record.

4. The Req will load.

Notice this Req has a PO Category of Work Order.  If the Req has parts for a Task, the PO Category will usually be Work Order or Mixed.

5. In the lower workspace, click on the Parts tab and click the chevron to collapse the Expected Receipts.

6. Expand the red chevron next to the Parts Line.

If you need more room, you can hit the F11 key to collapse the header.  Hitting F11 again will bring the header back.

7. The Work Order number and Task ID will be displayed under the Parts tab. These hyperlink to the Work Order and Task.

9. Note that your breadcrumb now says Requisition/POs > Task.

10. Click on the Part Need Tab in the lower workspace.

11. Click F11 to collapse the header.

12. Expand the Chevron next to the part need line.

13. The tech who requested the part is listed.

In our example, the part need was generated when the PM was created, so SA_WEBPORTAL shows instead of a Tech ID.

14. You have the ability to adjust the priority from this screen as long as the Requisition has not been released.  If you change the priority from 1 or 2 down to a 3-5, you will receive a prompt telling you that the Need By Date must be moved back to a minimum of 7 days out.

Conversely, if you raise the Priority up to one or two, you'll receive a message telling you that you have the ability to move up the need by date.

15. If you make any changes, click Save in the header (F11) or click Control + S.

Remember, you can only make changes to the requisition up to the time where you release it to the Buyer.  After that point, the SCS is locked out of the Req.
