Cycle Counts are done on a randomized portion of your inventory, whereas Physical Inventories count your entire inventory once a year.
Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.
1. Go to Inventory > Logistics > Stock Counts.
2. Click either the New Button or the blue hyperlink in the middle of the page to create a new Stock Count.
3. Choose Cycle Count from the Count Type.
4. If you want to enter a lines per page number do it here.
5. Enter your ST # in the Place ID field.
DO NOT MISS THIS STEP. If the Place ID is left blank, the Stock Count will run wide open and will bog down the server and interfere with every site's ability to run a stock count.
6. Location is a required field.
- If your site has both Customer and ATS stock, you should run those Cycle Counts separately.
- The "Ours Only" checkbox can be selected when the ATS location is chosen.
7. Enter the Count Cutoff Date.
- If you are doing your cycle counts on a regular basis (weekly/monthly), the system will keep track of where you left off and you will have roughly the same amount of parts to count each interval.
8. Sort Order defaults to BIN but can be changed to Part with the drop-down arrow.
9. Click Save to Generate the Cycle Count.
10. If everything processes correctly, you will see the message below.
The next step is to check the run log.
10.1. If there are no data records that qualify for the stock count, you will get an error message telling you so.
11. Go to File > Run Log.
12. Expand the red chevron. Under the General Tab, select Stock Count Run as the Run Type.
13. Enter The Run Log ID in the Foreign Key Number 1 field and hit the magnifying glass to return the result.
14. Confirm that the Stock Run has processed correctly before going forward.
14.1. Proper Run Log number is in the Foreign Key Number 1 field.
14.2. Run Status = Complete.
If Run Status shows In Progress, press F5 until Complete.
14.3. Number of Records Processed.
14.4. Run Status Description = Blank means everything processed correctly.
If you see Stock Count Exception Errors, it means you have previous Stock Counts open on this location which need to be closed first.
