4.14 My Tech ordered a New Part from the wrong location. It still says NEW PART on the Task -- Can I change the location on the Task, or do I have to contact the Buyer?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

As long as it still says "NEW PART" on the Task, in both the CLIENT and the Work Module, the SCS can go into the CLIENT and change the location of the Part Need.

This does NOT change the location on the Escalation, but that does not matter.  As the Requisition will be kicked off from the Task, this should not be a concern.

1. The Tech enters the New Part request in the Work Module.  All information is entered in the pop-up window.

Location is not one of the things that can be edited in the Portal, only Quantity and Due Date.  The Tech could, however, DELETE this Part Need and re-enter it with the proper location.  Or, s/he can follow the steps below.

2. S/he notices that the wrong location was selected and informs the SCS.

3. SCS goes to Service > Task and opens the Task in the CLIENT.

4. The record loads.  Click on the Part Needs Tab in the lower workspace.

5. Because the Part Need still says "NEW PART", the SCS can change the location from ATS-200 to Customer.

5.1. Expand the red chevron under Part Needs.

5.2. Change the Location To from ATS-200 to Customer.

5.3. Also change the Location From.

5.4. Use Control+S or click SAVE.

6. At this point, the Buyer would go into the Escalation and replace "NEW PART" with the actual part number.  S/he breadcrumbs back and approves the Escalation.

7. This part number and the correct location are on the Part Need on the Task.  eFACTORYPRO will kick off a requisition once Refill to Targets runs.  The SCS approves the Requisition and the rest of the process follows as usual.
