Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.
Location in EFP refers to who OWNS the merchandise. Locations can be virtual or real. Part numbers in EFP2 began with a "C" if the stock was customer-owned or an "A" if the stock was ATS owned. Now, all part numbers begin with a "1" and the Stock is either in the Customer or ATS location.
Do not think of a location like "Warehouse 3", but strictly as WHO OWNS THE MERCHANDISE.
All Sites are set up with the following locations at go-live:
1. ATS: for ATS-Owned Merchandise
This is classified for "normally usable" stock.
1.1. If your site has Customer-Only merchandise, the majority of your bins will be set up in the Customer location. Your ATS location might look something like this:
- The only bins are for work order consumption and putaway.
The opposite would be true if you have only ATS-owned merchandise.
2. Customer: for Customer-Owned Merchandise
This is classified for "normally usable" stock.
2.1. In our example, if the site has all Customer-owned merchandise, the bins would be under the Customer Location.
- BINS are where the stock is actually held and can be virtual or real.
- Note that there is a -R bin for "Repaired Stock" associated with every New Stock Bin.
3. If you happen to be in a site that has both Customer and ATS-owned merchandise, you will very likely see both the same bins under both locations.
- The Bin numbers are the same as bins and can be virtual. You could also have a Customer-owned part and an ATS-owned part in the same bin.
4. Core: Will be used in the future for parts being sent out for repair or for holding before SCRAP.
This is classified as "normally UNusable" stock.
