7.11 Step by Step: The site can't manually set Hold/WMAT status. How can that be fixed?

Updated on

The only way the site can manually set the Hold/WMAT status on a task is if the place record is set up correctly in the CLIENT (IFS.)  ADMIN Credentials are required to change this so a ticket must be entered with the Help Desk.

If the site does NOT handle parts as part of their contract with the customer, they should be able to manually set the task in the HOLD Status with a Status Reason of Waiting on Material.

To confirm that your site is set up in error, follow these instructions.

Go to the Summary Panel of a Task.  Ensure NO parts have been added to the Task.

  1. Click on Edit to bring up the Summary Panel options.
  2. Change the Status to HOLD.
  3. Change the Status Reason to Waiting on Materials.
  4. Because the Place Record is set up wrong, an error message lets you know that you are not able to save this option.
  5. Click Cancel to exit this dialogue.

Help Desk Instructions:

1. From the system search in the upper right corner of the CLIENT, type Places.

2. Click on the Tab that comes up.

3. Expand the Red Chevron in the search field.

4. Enter the four digit site number in the SITE field.

5. Click on the ST record associated with the Site.

In most cases, you will see both a BT and a ST record populate.  If you are trying to change something with the site record, you must always use the ST Record.  You must have Admin Credentials to modify the Place record.

6. Click on DETAILS in the lower Tabs.

7. Details has sub-tabs.  You need to click on LOGISTICS.

8. The flag that is causing the problem is the External Parts Integration checkbox in the lower left of the first column.

If this is UNCHECKED,  it means that parts are handled through EFP, and you will NOT be able to manually set the  Hold/WMAT status.

9. Click the Checkbox and Save by using the CNTL + S shortcut or the Save button.

If the External Parts Integration is checked, it means you DO NOT handle parts as part of your contract, and you WILL be able to manually set the Hold/WMAT status.

10. Refresh your screen in the Portal by hitting the F5 key.

11. You will now be able to set HOLD/WMAT manually.

12. The Status/Status Reason will show in both the Grid and Summary Panel.

Remember, as you manually set the status, you must manually move it out of the status as well.  There is no system prompted transaction that does it for you.
