Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.
Keep in mind, Cycle Counts only are checking a RANDOM sample of your inventory for an interval of time. It is highly likely that you will find additional things in the bin that are not on your Count Sheet, as they are scheduled to be counted at a later date.
A. Cycle Couunts are based off of the Last Counted Date and the Cycle Count Period in the Stock Record for each Part.
B. For MOST sites, the Cycle Count Period is 365, meaning that all items are Cycle Counted once a year in addition to the Physical Inventory if applicable.
- This information can be found in the top of the center column of the stock record for the part.
If the part is not listed on your stock count sheet, it is ENTIRELY POSSIBLE that it is not due to be counted in the date range between your last Cycle Count and the date you entered for your current Cutoff Date.
1. Go to Inventory > Stock.
2. Expand the Red Chevron.
3. Enter the Part ID.
4. Enter your ST# in the Place ID field.
5. Enter the Location (Customer or ATS) for this Cycle Count.
- Location refers to who OWNS the stock - not an actual physical location. If you are doing a cycle count on ATS Merchandise, it should show zero on hand.
- However, s the Stock Record shows below, there are 10 on hand in the CUSTOMER location.
- Entering the Location of your Stock Count is critical so you don't end up adding more inventory than you have.
6. Click the Green Magnifying Glass.
7. The Stock Record loads.
7.1. Confirm this is the correct part number and description.
7.2. Confirm the Place ID and Location.
7.3. Check the Last Counted Date to confirm whether the part should have been included in the Cycle Count.
- This is the key field that you are checking.
-
If you find that the date was not included in your Cycle Count Date Range pull, you can IGNORE this part. Nothing else needs to be done.
- It has either already been counted in a previous count, or is due to be counted in an upcoming count.
7.4. Click on the Bins and Serials Tab.
7.5. Confirm the Bin.
7.6. Confirm the Quantity on Hand.
- In the example below, this Site runs Cycle Counts every month.
- The Count Cutoff Date for this run was 4/28/2017,
- The last count cutoff date would have been 3/28/2017.
- In the screenshot above, (7.3) shows a Last Counted Date of 3/1/2017 so it would not have qualified for the Count.
