5.17 I didn't get a requisition for a Task/Work Order? What can I check?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

There are a number of reasons why a requisition may not have generated for a Task/Work Order Request.  Here is one of the things you will want to check.

1. From the main menu in the CLIENT, go to Inventory > Stock.

2. Expand the red chevron.

3. Enter your part number, site and location.

4. Click the green magnifying glass.

5. The stock record will load.

10. The breadcrumb now shows Stock > Part Need > Task.

11. Go to the Part Needs Tab.

12. Confirm the Status says Entered.

13. If a PO existed for this part, it would be listed in the lowest section.

15. Notice that the fields for On Hand, Allocated and Available are missing numbers.

This usually happens when someone has gone in and deleted the Location bins for stock.  "Location" are system generated bins that are the default receiving locations.  This could be what is causing you not to receive a requisition.

16. Click on Bins and Serials.

17. In this case, someone DID delete one of the Location bins, and in this case, they deleted the WRONG one.  They deleted the Usable bin and left the unusable bin.

To solve this issue we need to do the following:

  1. Cancel the part need on the task
  2. Delete the existing stock record (this can only be done if there is no demand on the record)
  3. Add back a new stock record
  4. Add back the part to the Task/WO.
  5. Run Refill to Targets (or wait for it to run)
  6. Confirm that the issue was resolved.

Cancel the Part Need (Portal or CLIENT)

18. Cancel the Part Need by selecting that option from the action menu in the portal.

19. Click Yes to confirm.

20. A confirmation message appears to tell you that the cancellation has processed successfully.

21. Go back to the Stock Record in the CLIENT. (Inventory > Stock.)

22. The quantities section now shows all zeros.

23. Click DELETE to remove this stock record.

24. A confirmation message appears.  Click Yes to delete.  The faulty stock record is removed.
