5.15 How can I see parts that are ready to be consumed on a work order?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

The easiest way to see your parts associated with a work order is to use the Part Need Screen.

2. Another option is to get to that screen is to type Part Need Search in the system search window in the upper right corner of the client and click on the tab that comes up.

3. Click on the red chevron to see the search criteria.

In this case, we are going to look for part needs that are in an Entered Status and have a quantity allocated.  Those are the ones that should be ready to consume.

4. Enter your ST# in the Place ID From field.

5. Enter the desired location in the Location from field.

6. Toggle through the usable checkbox until you see a checkmark.

7. In the Quantity Allocated field, enter ">=1"  This will pull back anything with a quantity greater than or equal to one.

8. Under Part Need Status, click the drop down arrow and choose Entered.

  • If this is a search you were going to use on a regular basis, you could save a custom search by clicking on the Show button.
  • Choose SAVE AS.
  • Type a title.
  • If you would like this to be your default search, click the checkbox next to Set as Default.
  • Do NOT Make Public!
  • If you don't select the search as a default and you want to select it, just click the green Show button and select your search from the list.

10. The list will populate below.

You can confirm that the part is ready to be consumed by looking at the WO/Task in the Portal.

11. Go to the Work Order Tab.

12. Click on the filter.  Enter the work order number and click apply.

13. Click on the line that is highlighted to load the lower panel.

14. Click on the Task.

15. Click on the Part Icon.

At this point you can follow up with the Tech to either consume the parts and finish the work on the task, or if the parts are no longer needed, the part need canceled and returned to stock.
