Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.
1. From the main menu, go to Inventory> Logistics > Part Need Search.
2. Another way to access the screen is to type it in the system search in the upper right corner and clicking on the tab that populates.
3. Expand the red chevron to see the search criteria.
4. Enter your ST# in the Place ID From Field.
5. Enter the appropriate location in the Location From field.
6. Toggle through the options until the Usable checkbox is checked.
7. In the Quantity Backordered field, enter the following ">=1". This will pull any record that has a quantity greater than or equal to one.
8. From the Part Need Status drop-down, choose Entered.
9. A message will show the Total Quantity, Total Allocated and Total Quantity Back ordered.
10. Click on the Promised by Date field in the header to sort.
- You may have to click more than once to toggle through the possible sort views.
- Ultimately you want to see the blanks on the top, followed by the oldest dates, moving to the newest dates.
11. The created date is in the last column on the right.
Look in the lower right hand corner. You can see that today is 6/24.
There are a minimum of two items you should follow up on. These are the first two lines in this search: Parts 100594253 and 100018624.
- Begin by researching anything that does not have a Customer Promise Date. You need to investigate why and ensure it is on order.
- Is the refill box checked in the Stock Record?
- Is there already a requisition sitting waiting to be released? Even from quite a while ago.
