5.11 How can I tie a Part to the Bill of Materials (BOM) in the Client?

Updated on

Currently only those with the Supervisor Role can update BOMs in the system.

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

In eFACTORYPRO, the BOM is Enterprise-wide, Model Specific.  For Example, if your site has Airtek TW770 Dryers, that have NOT been customized past the point of being different than any other Airtek TW770 Dryer, all parts that are used on a TW770 (from any site) will show in the BOM.   This allows you to view what others are using as well as what your site has used.

Please note:

EFP WILL AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE THE BOM ON THE MODEL EVERY TIME THAT A PART IS CONSUMED ON A TASK.

If you are willing to wait for your BOM to build as you consume parts, you don't have to do anything at all.  If, however, you are transferring data from an old system, and wish to build up your Bill of Materials manually, here are the instructions on how to do that.

1. Select:  Service> Equipment

2. Enter your equipment ID number and click the green magnifying glass to load.

4. Select the Bill of Material tab.

5. Select the NEW button in the BOM tab – this will open a new line for update.

6. The system puts the new line at the bottom of the list.   To have it appear at the top of the list Select the Sequence tab twice (getting the downward triangle.)

7. Leave the Model ID field BLANK

8. Enter the Part ID number.

9. Repeat these steps as necessary to add additional Part ID numbers.

10. Hit the SAVE button at the top of the page or Cntl + S to complete.
