9.2 PME - Interface Navigation

Expand or collapse content PARTS screen:

1. Gear Icon - will act as a home button to come back to this page.

3. Grid Filter - here users can select a grid view from a high level.

Available views:

  • Verified Parts (default)
  • Unverified Parts
  • Removed Parts
  • All Parts
  • eFACTORYPRO Parts
  • Salesforce Parts
  • D365 Parts
  • Custom

4. Search Bar - the grid will start to filter with each key stroke.

These filters can be deleted by clicking the X in the bread crumb and will immediately refresh the grid view.

6. Log Out and Light/Dark Mode button - here users can log out of their session and also will have ability to switch between light and dark mode.

7. New Part Record button - users will select this button to start of the creation process.

When you create a part you select the MFG, the band,  noun, then modifiers, etc.... depending on your role determines what happens next.

  • Data Integrity: part will automatically be created. No verification needed.
  • Supply Chain Specialist: the part they create will go into PME as UNVERIFIED. So that will NOT prevent them from buying the part. So it can be used in a PO.

 

8. 3 Dot Icon - here users can Autosize or Rest the grid columns after they have been modified in any way.

9. Line Selection - by clicking and highlighting a line all the information about that part will be displayed in the lower half of the grid.

10. Summary - this view will give users the summary of the part.

  • Universal ID
  • Short Description
  • Manufacturer
  • Brand
  • Mfg Part Number
  • Clean Part ID (this is Manufacturer ID stripped of every special characters)
  • Noun
  • Modifier
  • Tax Group
  • UNSPSC
  • Commodity Group
  • Category
  • Sub-Category
  • Repairable
  • Verified
  • Status
  • Ave Lead Time (Days)
  • Purchase UOM
  • Issue UOM

Part Numbers will continue to match with the part number we have in MDS today, and what we are doing is the MDS part number will now be our Universal ID, which is going to be a System ID.

11. Alternates - will show a list of alternate parts for the selection.

From this icon users can also add Alternate and Replacement parts

12. Primary Supplier - will show the primary supplier.

Info includes:

  • Legal Entity (can show up to all three countries, but not more than one from each.)
  • Supplier ID
  • Supplier Name
  • Delete Button

13. Attachments - here users can upload photos/documents that pertain to the Part.

Users will also have the option to Delete or Edit each attachment.

14. Events - this will list any events that have to do with the selected part.

15. Delete - Delete - this will only be an option on certain screens. If selected users will be prompted with a  confirmation pop-up. This will be for Data Integrity users only.

16. Expand Button - this will expand the lower grid view to the full screen.

11. Brands - this will populate a list of brands available.

As a Parts Contributor, verified brands will be shown as struck through if you try to delete them. It's more like a soft delete because the user has the option to restore those brands and modifiers if you click the 3 dots on the right.

If you're logged in as a Parts Contributer and create a brand and modifier, it'll be unverified, and when data integrity deletes an unverified brand or modifier it'll delete it entirely and not strike it through.

12. Events - this will list any events that have to do with the selected manufacturer.

11. Modifiers - this view will show any Modifiers associated the the selected Noun.

  • the 3-dot icon will allow users to Approve (if you have permissions), Edit, and Delete.

Users cannot create a modifier under a requested noun. That noun will need to be approved first. Also users can only have a modifier inside the noun. You cannot create a modifier separately.

12. Events - will show anything that had been done to the selected Noun.

We are NOT creating new parts. We will import old parts that are currently in MDS into the PME. The EFP ID number will be the same as the client numbers.

3. Grid Filter - here users can select a grid view from a high level.

  • Completed Requests

5. +Request - here is where users will create a new Request.

Expand or collapse content IMPORTS screen:

Please that if you are a Parts Contributor in the PME you will not have the Imports option. This is for Data Integrity ONLY.

1. Gear Icon - will act as a home button.

2. Import Object - options will be Part, Mfg, Brand, Noun, and Modifier.

3. Type Of Import - option are Create and Update.

4. Choose file - the only file accepted are .csv files. So if you have that specific template filled out users can upload it here. If not after users select their Import Object and Type of Import they can select the Download Template button and start to fill it out appropriately.

5. Description - enter a description of the imported information. 500 character limit.

6. Download Template - after selecting the Import Object and Type of Import the Download Template button will highlight. Here users can download the correct template to be uploaded above. The templates will be named appropriately according to the drop down choices.

7. Cancel, Preview, Import - here you will select what you want to do with the Import.

8. Past Downloads - the bottom section will show past downloads with multiple columns of info.

  • Import Type - is what the user had tried to import, whether it was a part, manufacturer, brand, or modifier.
  • Description of the import where the user can describe what they tried to import into the application
  • Event Date/Time - date of the import.
  • Success - will show whether it had succeeded which it would show a certain number of successes depending on how many rows were contained in the file.
  • Failure - similar to Success but this will show files that did not work.
  • Event Report shows a detailed report and if you click on it, it'll show a detailed excel file of any successes on rows and reasons for failure.
