6.1 PLANNING WIZARD: Is there an overview of the Planning Wizard in the Planner Portal?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

The Planning Wizard was designed to provide the sites with a step-by-step method of planning tasks.  This will help ensure that each step of the planning process is completed, which allows us to get better at Work Execution Management.

1. Log into the Planner Portal (planning.efactorypro.com) or click on the Planner Scheduler Role in the Portal.

2. Click on Tasks.

3. The Tasks that are ready to go the Wizard are listed.

This will include tasks that are in the Hold/WMAT status that have not already been planned.

4. The first column has checkboxes allowing you to select multiple tasks to work on at once.

5. The Task ID is listed.

6. The Job Plan ID is listed.  This could be a numeric field, indicating a PM, or it could be a standard text field like CM or FM, indicating a Master Job Plan.

It should be noted that the Job Plan ID listed in #6 is the original Job Plan ID that was assigned when the Task was originally created.

7. The Task Priority is listed.

8. The Planned Duration is listed in #8.  If the field is blank, it is because the task currently has a zero duration.

9. The Column marked #9 has the original description entered when the Task was created.

10. The number of Steps currently associated with the Task are listed in the Column marked #10.

11. The Asset ID of the equipment or sub-location chosen when the task was entered is visible in the Column marked #11.

12. The Task Type is listed in the Column marked #12.  Unlike the Job Plan ID, this is the actual Task Type.

The task type doesn't change, even if you change the Job Plan associated with the Task through the Planning Wizard.

13. The Team is listed in the Column marked #13.

14. If a "Qualified Technician" is required, you will see a Y in the Column marked #14.

15. If there are Regulatory Requirements associated with the Task, you will see that listed in the Column marked #15.

16. And, finally, the final column on the right has the icon for Planned.  If there is a circle with a checkmark in the column, it means that the Task has met the basic requirements for "Planned work."

To be considered "Planned", the Task must contain a duration greater than zero minutes, and must contain more than one step.

17. Filters can be accessed through the funnel icon.  The filters work the same as they do in Job Plans.

18. The Magic Wand icon moves the Tasks you have selected into the Planning Wizard.

19. You can move items with the Planned Icon to the next step of the process by simply selecting the lines that already have the Planned icon and clicking the "Marked Planned" Icon.

19.1. A confirmation message appears.  Click Yes.

19.2. Once the job has processed, you will see a notification telling you that the move has been successful. Click OK.

19.3. The selected tasks are now removed from the list.
