10.9 How do I send a Task that has been scheduled in Daily Capacity back to Period Capacity Scheduling?

Updated on

There is an option for the user to send tasks from Daily Capacity to Period Capacity. The difference between using the "SEND TO PERIOD CAPACITY" button is if parts need to be added or if additional planning needs to be done.

Although all tasks that have not been reviewed will automatically get sent back to be rescheduled at the end of the week, the Send to Period Capacity button gives the Planner/Scheduler the option of not having to wait til the end of week if additional planning has to be done.

From Period Capacity Screen, you can actually send the Task all the way back to the Planning, in case you want to change the job plan, etc.

This will refresh the queue so that the task is no longer visible in Daily Capacity and make the task visible again in the Period Capacity Schedule Board. The task status and reason will go to to "In Planning" / "Ready for Scheduling (Planning Complete)".

It would be a good idea to make note of the task number before selecting this option as it will be put back into the Period Capacity list which is in descending order.

1. Click on the task tile to open the panel.

2. Select the Send to Period Capacity button.

3. The task will disappear and a confirmation message will appear in the upper right corner letting the user know that the task was successfully sent back.

4. The task is now back in the Period Capacity View.

When a Task is sent back through the Send to Period Capacity button, it has the following properties:

  • Status = In Planning, Status Reason = Ready for Scheduling.
  • Scheduling Period = None
  • Rescheduled = 1 (or one more than was previously recorded).
  • Skillsets and Technician Assignments are retained until a new scheduling period is set.

5. You can see all of the existing information when you click on the Task ID to load the lower panel.

Remember, if the Schedule button is grayed out, you will need to set a start date before being able to reschedule.

6. If you need to add more than just Parts or additional skillsets, you can click the drop-down arrow next to schedule. to Send Back to Planning.

This will allow you to take the Task back into the Planning Wizard, if you want to add an attachment or additional steps, etc.
