Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

Job Plans for taking meter readings will be used on calendar-based PMs.

To Create a Job Plan for an Individual Meter Reading:

1. Log into the Planner Portal.

2. Click on Job Plans.

3. Click on the Copy Job Plan icon.

4. You may want to check to see if anyone else has a Job Plan that you could copy and modify.  In our example, we have chosen to filter using the Description Contains Meter.

5. Hit the Apply button to execute the filter.

6. 80 Job plans match your results.

7. It looks like 21851 could be something we want to use.

The benefit of copying an existing template is that it saves you the time of creating yours from scratch.

8. Click on the checkbox in front of the Job Plan id.

If you want to see the contents of the Job Plan, you can click on the eye icon at the end of the line.  This will open up a new screen with the Job Plan details.

9. If you decide you want to copy the Job Plan, simply click the Add button in the middle of the screen. Upon saving, the Job Plan will be added to your site with your team.  From there, you can edit it  and assign to the appropriate equipment.

If there are no existing templates that meet your needs, you will need to create a new Job Plan from scratch.

10. Click +New Job Plan in the upper right corner of the Copy Job Plan Screen via the drop down. First you will enter info under the STEPS button.

11.3. In the Description, either put the Meter Name if this template is going to be used on just one meter, or use a generic name like "Take Meter Reading."

11.4. The Priority defaults to 3 - Normal, but you can raise it or lower it as needed.

11.5. Select any subtypes if necessary.

11.6. Select if this is to be done by a Qualified Technician.

11.7. Select if this is a Regulatory task.

11.8. Enter your Steps.

  • All tasks begin with a Pre-Task analysis.
  • Add as much information to any additional steps as needed.
  • Un-check the Required box (if the step is not required).
  • One of the last steps should Instruct technician to enter the reading into the Portal.

12. Now select Time and Skills. Select the +New Skillset button.

12.1. Under Name enter a skillset.

12.2. Under Quantity enter as number more than zero.

12.3. Enter a Task Duration.

12.4. Enter a Skill Time.

At this point you have entered the minimum amount of information to save this new Job Plan.

12.5. Select Save.

Users can also associate PARTS, EQUIPMENT, and ATTACHMENTS to this job plan using those specific buttons at the top.

If the description and steps are generic, this Task Template can be used on multiple pieces of equipment.

Be sure to tie it to each piece of equipment in the Planner Portal so it will be available for use on those machines.
