11.5 FAQ: How can I send a Task back to planning?

Updated on

There are times that, as a Planner Scheduler, you may feel that the Task needs more planning.  There are many things that can be done straight from the Period Capacity Schedule pop-up, but sometimes you may want to return the task back to the Planning Wizard to change the Job Plan, etc.

1. If you need to send the task back to Planning, you will need to do this from the Period Capacity screen.

2. Find the task and click on the line to bring up the schedule pop-up box.

3. The schedule pop-up box loads.

4. Click on the drop-down arrow.

5. Choose Send Back to Planning.

6. A confirmation message tells you that the Task has been moved.  Click Ok.

When a Task is sent Back to Planning, the field in the system that marks it as "Planned" is unchecked.  It is important that you understand that the task MUST go through the Planning Wizard process again in order to meet the Planned Criteria -- even if it is just checking the "mark planned" icon again on the summary screen.
