When the customer puts in a break-in task (P1 or P2 CM Task), it can be taken automatically into the Daily Capacity screen without having to go through the Planning process.
It should, of course, still be validated before going into the scheduling process.
1. Anyone who has access to the Scheduling screen on the Planner Portal can go to the Daily Capacity screen.
Because it is a P1 (or P2) task, it will show in the current week default.
3. The tile opens to display all the options. By default you are seeing the SKILLSET tab.
4. Notice the message that tells you that this task can be assigned to any technician.
5. Instead of a zero duration, this task has been assigned 1 minute.
6. You can assign the Task in one of two ways:
or B. by clicking the Assign hyperlink in the lowest section.
B 1. The pop-up box comes up, allowing you to choose the Technician (of any skillset) and the date.
If you need to have more than one Technician assigned to the Task, you can add additional Technicians only after the initial Technician has been assigned.
7. In either case, the schedule will show in the Tech's assigned work as 0.02 hours.
8. Once assigned, it will show in the Tech's My Schedule View.
The Task is now in Ready for Execution/Assigned.
Please NOTE: Tasks that are assigned in this manner will NOT count toward your planning or scheduling metrics.
9. If the task doesn't get completed during the assigned week, it will automatically get sent back and show in the overdue tasks view.
10. Click on the schedule button to move it to the next week or click on the task to load the lower panel.
The skillset assignment will remain until it is moved to the next scheduling period. This is to reduce the amount of rework for the Planner Scheduler.
Although the original task did not count toward your scheduling metrics, if it has to be RESCHEDULED into another week, it will be included.
Another option for sending the Task back is to use the Send to Period Capacity button. Sites often use this button when there is more planning that needs to be done.
Using the Send to Period Capacity button returns the task in the following ways:
- Status is In Planning / Status Reason is Ready for Scheduling.
- Scheduling period is removed.
- Skillset and Technician assignment is retained until task is assigned to another scheduling period.
