This functionality can ONLY be done by a Planner/Scheduler or a Supervisor.
1. Find the task that is a duplicate.
2. Select the the Work Order button.

3. Select the EDIT button.
5. Select Save.

6. Now select the task button to go back to the task.
7. Select the EDIT button.

8. Select the Status drop down and pick Canceled.
9. You will be prompted to select a Reason for Variance - select Canceled - Duplicate.
10. Select SAVE.
