15.2 Can I have two "owners" of a task on the Schedule Board in the CLIENT?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

Although the Schedule Board gives you the option of assigning an additional resource to the Task, in actuality, the system only allows you to have ONE owner for any Task.

Using the Assign Additional Resource in the Schedule Board moves the owner from one Technician to another.

1. From the Main Menu, go to Service > Schedule Board.

2. Click on the Task and drag it to assign it to a Technician.

The Schedule Board is in the "DAY" view for these screenshots, but the results are the same in any view.

In this case, we want to assign Task 50273 to DTYNER on Thursday June 8th from 1 am to 4 am.

Do NOT click on any of the hyperlinks when dragging Tasks to the top or the system will take you to a different screen.

3. Once the task is assigned, right click to try to assign an additional resource.

4. A selection menu appears.

5. Enter the Team ID.

6. Enter the Tech ID or Search using the magnifying glass.

As long as you enter the Team ID first, your selection will be limited to only that team at your site.

7. Click Save.

8. You can see that, instead of being assigned to both David AND Douglas, it is only assigned to Doug.

Instead of trying to add an additional resource on the schedule board, here are some suggestions:

The simplest way, if this is possible, is to communicate that both Techs need to work on the PM during the shift changeover meeting and have them both put their time on the PM task.

If you traditionally have the same people pairing up on PMs, you could create a separate Team with just those technicians and assign the PM to the Team instead of an individual Tech.

If the PM work is going to carry over shifts, you create a follow-up task while the PM is still Open. This FM task can be assigned to another tech. Because the original PM task was Proactive, the FM task counts in your Proactive Metrics as well.
