6.7 PLANNING WIZARD: How do steps work in the Planning Wizard?

Updated on

Steps in the screenshots correspond to the numbers in the headings.

Most of the Tasks in the Planning Wizard will start out with just one step:  the Pre-Task Analysis.  This is certainly true for all MRCT and MOTH Tasks, as well as any follow up tasks from MPRO Tasks.

In order for the Task to count as Planned, it must have two or more steps, and a duration.  Additionally, before it can be moved to the Scheduling Portal, it must have at least one skillset.

As previously mentioned, you can import the steps from an existing job plan, or you can simply add new steps manually.  The step functionality works the same as it does in the Job Plan module:

A.  You must ensure that there is a step name and step text for each step before saving.

B.  You can reorder the steps by grabbing the handle at the left side of the row and dragging the step into place.

C.  You can add a new step by clicking any of the plus signs or the New Step options.

D.  You can toggle through the required options until each step shows the desired setting.

In our example, we will show how to modify steps once you've added a new job plan to a task.

1. Go to the Planner Portal or click on Planner Scheduler from the Masthead.

2. Click on Tasks.

3. Place a checkmark in front of the Task(s) you want to work on.

4. Click the Magic Wand Icon to enter the Planning

5. Any available Job Plans that are assigned to that equipment and have met the planned criteria are shown in the box below.

6. You have the option to search for other job plans, by clicking the Search Job Plans button at the bottom of the window. To apply the Job Plan, click the Assign button.

7. The new Job Plan number shows in the Active Task line.

8. From here, you can walk through the Wizard to make changes to any fields you want to change. Simply click on the numbers or use the navigation buttons in the lower left.

9. Click on Steps.

10. The steps for the Task are listed.

For this example, we want to modify the following:

  1. Remove PM verbiage from Step 2
  2. Add a Step after 15 to tighten fixture back in place.

11. Double click on the Text for Step 2 and edit Text.

12. Click any of the options to add a new step.

  • The +STEP button on the right will add a step at the bottom of the list which can be dragged up to any of the above spots.
  • Or select the +STEP button of the step you would like to add a step BELOW that step.

In this case we will add it using the +STEP on line 5.

13. The Save button becomes grayed out and the user will have to select from the drop down from a list of predefined steps.

14. Enter the Name and Step Text.

15. The Save button becomes active.  Click Save.

Any Task that has more than one step has met the STEP criteria for Planned.  This will show on the Summary.

16. As a final step, if the required criteria has been met, a green checkmark will show in the summary tab.

17. Click the icon under Action to mark the Task as Ready for Scheduling

A confirmation message tells you that the Task has processed as Ready for Scheduling and you are returned to the Task Grid.
